the first of March 1988, the first Wal-Mart Supercenter opened in
Washington, Missouri, U.S.A. With fresh food, groceries and discount-general
merchandise all under one roof, Wal-Mart Supercenter is the ultimate
in one-stop shopping----not only saves customers time and money
but also offers a unique shopping experience. This new concept has
been enthusiastically accepted by the customers ever since. Till
today, Wal-Mart has about 1,000 Supercenters around the world.
In China, the first Supercenter opened in Luohu District,
Shenzhen in 1996. Now Wal-Mart has 77 Supercenters in China.
Wal-Mart operates on an Every Day Low Prices philosophy
and maintains low-price structure through aggressive buying and
smart distribution. Savings are passed on to customers through lower
