Wal-Mart China Highly Recognized
by Suppliers

Sep 5th, 2006 – In 2006 Supplier Satisfaction Survey Report
published by Shanghai Business Information and FMCG Research
Center, Wal-Mart was highly recognized by suppliers as a “satisfactory
retailer”.. This is a further vote of confidence by the
suppliers after Wal-Mart has repeatedly been ranked No.1 by China
Chain Store & Franchise Association for three year in a row.
Ninety-eight suppliers typically from over a dozen industries
responded to the survey covering 51 retailers in the Yangtze
River Delta. Wal-Mart scored the highest in a number of supplier
satisfaction indexes such as “overall satisfaction index”(3.78
points) and “credit index” (4.19 points).
Wal-Mart firmly believes in local procurement. We recognize
that quality products can generate more job opportunities, support
local manufacturing and boost economic development. Over 95%
of the merchandise in our stores in China is sourced locally.
To date, we have established partnership with nearly 20,000 suppliers
in China. We always treat our suppliers as partners and we grow
together.

Lam continues to say that Wal-Mart attaches great importance
to partnership with suppliers. We share advanced retail technology,
sales feedback, market trend with suppliers so that they can
improve the production. We are also improving the packaging to
lower the cost and contribute to our environment. Thought all
these efforts, we’ve achieved mutual benefits.
