Wal-Mart Honey Lake Supercenter Opens to Greet Customers

Shenzhen, August 31st, 2006 – Today, Wal-Mart celebrated the grand opening of Wal-Mart Supercenter Honey Lake Store. Leaders from Shenzhen Municipal Government joined executives from Wal-Mart (China) Investment Co., Ltd. at the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Stanley Yu, Vice President & COO of Wal-Mart China said that Wal-Mart had operated 62 outlets in 32 cities since it entered China ten years ago and has become a favorite destination of more and more shoppers thanks to its good customer service and high quality merchandise at Every Day Low Prices. Honey Lake store is the 63rd store Wal-Mart opened in China and the 12th in Shenzhen. Shenzhen is the first city Wal-Mart entered in China. Wal-Mart is confident that it will be well received by Shenzhen residents and will contribute to Shenzhen’s economy.

Located on the joint point of Xiangmei Road North and Qiaoxiang Road, Honey Lake Supercenter was reconstructed from the former Sam’s CLUB. It has 2 floors with an operation area of about 10,400 square meters. It offers nearly 20,000 merchandises, including fresh foods, apparels, household electrical appliances, etc. It is highlighted with Candy Street and Coffee Shop and special service areas featuring optical and jewelry. As a return to customers’ support, Wal-Mart Honey Lake store will offer great value merchandise and a series of retailtainment events during the grand opening.
