Wal-Mart Supercenter Qianjin Square Store Opens
Wal-Mart Donated Again for Shanhe Hope School in Changchun

Changchun, April 23, 2004 – Today, a flourishing spring day, Wal-Mart announces the grand opening of Wal-Mart Supercenter Changchun Qianjin Square Store. To celebrate the store opening, Wal-Mart donates study stationery to students in Shanhe Wal-Mart Hope School. The company hopes to encourage these students to study hard and to become useful people in the future.

Serving the community is Wal-Mart’s tradition. In January 2003, Wal-Mart donated RMB200,000 to rebuild the former Shanhe Primary School in Shuangyang District, Changchun. The rebuilding brings a safer and larger teaching environment for the children. In October 2003 the former Shanhe Primary School was renamed Shanhe Wal-Mart Hope School after the complement of the rebuilding.

The community seniors’ dancing group celebrates the store grand opening with their wonderful performance on the spot. Wal-Mart’s “Everyday Low Price” operating philosophy and aggressive customer service have become popular among Changchun customers. To Changchun citizens Wal-Mart represents high quality merchandise with low price and satisfaction guaranteed services. Wal-Mart Supercenter Qianjin Square Store will persist in the Every Day Low Price operating philosophy and offer excellent customer service to more customers, and enable them to enjoy the fun of shopping in Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart Supercenter Changchun Qianjin Square Store is located near Qianjin Square, at the entrance of High-tech Development Park. It has a business area of 11,000 square meters with a free parking lot for over 500 vehicles and provides over 20,000 kinds of merchandise, including fresh food, frozen food, grocery, housewares, household chemicals, cosmetics, household electronic appliances, apparels, bedding, sports goods and toys, etc. Considering a strong demand of volume purchase from factories nearby, Wal-Mart specially offers bulk purchase and delivery services. The service hotline is 5162209 and 5462210. Three lines of free shopping buses are also offered for the customers’ convenience. Wal-Mart Supercenter opens from 7:00 to 21:00.

Wal-Mart opened its first Supercenter and SAM’S CLUB in Shenzhen in 1996. Since then, it has opened 35 stores in 17 cities, including Shenzhen, Kunming, Fuzhou, Dalian, Xiamen, Shantou, Dongguan, Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang, Changsha, Beijing, Nanchang, Jinan, Qingdao, Tianjin, and Nanjing. Now it has 30 Supercenters, 3 SAM’S CLUBS and 2 Neighborhood Markets.
